Raytheon’s robust processes receives international accreditation again

Raytheon Australia’s leading integration capability has again been confirmed by an independent review of its Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)® Level 3 Maturity Model accreditation.

Highlighting the robust processes which continue to underpin the company’s capabilities, the evaluation confirmed Raytheon Australia’s world-class capability in enterprise architecture, systems integration and engineering, complex program management and sustainment areas since its first companywide maturity level three appraisal in 2009.

CMMI is a process improvement framework developed by the Software Engineering Institute of the Carnegie Mellon University.

The 2014 appraisal reviewed the company’s level of process maturity across 21 process areas, evaluating more than 6,000 elements of objective quality evidence, 441 practices and interviewing 60 company employees.

The Managing Director of Raytheon Australia, Michael Ward, has welcomed the appraisal result as further proof of the company’s mature approach to problem solving; its ability to deal with complex issues; to monitor project performance and respond as necessary to change; to assess and select vendor goods and services; and to provide value to the organisation’s customers.

"This important accreditation demonstrates our trusted partnership with our customers. It shows they can have every confidence in our ability to consistently apply our people, processes and tools in support of our customer’s mission," he said.

"This is strong evidence that Raytheon Australia has the industry’s most robust processes in systems engineering and project management, which underpin our performance across all our programs."

He said that Raytheon Australia’s continuing CMMI Level 3 Maturity Model accreditation complemented the requirements of Defence customers acquiring and sustaining complex systems in the sub-surface, surface, air and land environments, and supported the company’s vision to be Australia’s premier defence integrator.
